Just Some Cards

Hi All,

It's been awhile, but I finally got a chance to upload some more cards. This one was made for a very courageous woman. She's battling cancer right now so please keep Cheryl in your prayers. This is another Sarah Kay image from my friend Kathy. She so spoils me with images. I colored the image with watercolor crayons. The paper is some of the new specialty designer paper from SU. Parisian Breeze. I also used close to cocoa and bajha breeze paper. The ribbon is SU's kraft taffeta. Oh, and the card base is Gina K's 120 lb stock. It's all I use now for white card base.
Now this card is for my friend Kat, who just celebrated her birthday last week. The paper is PTI's bitty dot basics. I just LOVE this paper. The sentiment is PTI's handwritten notes. The stamp set is Botanical Blooms from SU's sale-a-bration catty. Paper is whisper white, soft sky and pacific point. Ink is old olive, kiwi kiss, pacifi point, bajha breeze and versafine black.
Blessings!

I made this card for my nephew and his bride. They went away a couple of weeks back to the Bahamas on vacation and came back married. Very romantic! I used Gina K's Wreath of Wishes and Melanie Muenchinger's A Charmed Life. I've been wanting to play with a Charmed Life all week, and just got a chance to today. The paper is SU's textured not quite navy for the base, not quite navy and soft sky and urban garden dp for the mat. The ribbon comes from PTI. SU markers for the coloring, crystal effects on the charms and little pearls on the charm and the pearl brad came from Michaels. I also used a prisma color pencil and gamsol to give the glass a bit of color.

Blessings!

Happy Mail!

Anyone who stamps knows the excitement when goodies come in the mail. Well I got some goodies on Monday. I just got to play tonight with my newest goodies. Gina K had her March release on thursday last week and I just HAD to order. These two card are made with Rupa Shevde's "Easter Blessings" set that was just released. It's such a beautiful set!
I used SU markers to color the stamp on this first card. Paper is SU elegant eggplant for the mat, some white cs I had laying around and Gina K's 120lb White for the card base. The ribbon is PTI.
I embossed the image in gold for this second card. Colored the tulips and leaves in with SU markers. Then I sponged around the edge in gold and matted on elegant eggplant. I used always artichoke ink for the leaves and sentiment. Once again Gina K 120 for the card base.
I also got 3 other sets and can't wait to play with them as well. In fact, maybe I'll head back to my craft area to play some more right now.
Blessings!

Lessons Learned

I learned a very important lesson this past Thursday......don't drink 2 large cups of green tea for dinner. I went to bed at 11, but couldn't sleep. So I got up and went to play a bit. Never got to sleep until about 3am. And then of course the alarm went off at 6am.
This adorable Sara Kay image was given to me by my friend Kathy. I finally colored her the other night, using prisma colored pencils and gamsol. I just finished the card today. The patterned paper is a digital from Gina K. The rest of the paper is SU's old olive textured for thebase, and blush blossom for the mat. I paper pierced the DP and used my creamy caramel marker to do the faux stitch. The vines and blossoms are from my stash that's been hanging around for at least a couple of years.

DH really likes it and says it good enough to be framed. Personally, I think he likes it because there's no ribbon on it, (he is definitely not a ribbon kind of guy). Well, there's laundry to be done so I'm off.
Blessings!
