Today's Challenge at SCS

Today's challenge at SCS was to use your color pencils. I really don't do much with my pencils because blending is not my strong point. I don't have blending stumps or gamesol or any of that stuff. But I just read somewheres recently about using blender pens. So I gave it a try. I think it came out pretty good for a first attempt. I love to embellish my cards, but I thought less would be more with this one.
I found the stamp at Joannes quite awhile ago. I used prismacolor pencils and the paper is always artichoke and so saffron from SU.

Today's Challenge at SCS

This was for today's color challenge on Splitcoaststampers, kraft, black and rose red. I used the birds and swirls embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The image is from SU's Happiness Always set. The sentiment is a stamp I picked up at Joannes awhile ago. Add some black brads and ribbons and you're done.

This is for my friend, Deby. Her birthday is this week and I wanted to bless her because she has been such a blessing to me. She's on vacation this week with her family so I know she won't see my blog before she gets to see the card in person.

Off to tend to laundry.

Getting Crazy for a Great Cause!

Here it is! I finally figured out how to add the widget thingy for the 3- Day Walk for the Cure. It's over on the right of the page.

My friend Deby and I will be walking 60 miles over 3 days to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. We will be taking this grand adventure October 3-5 in Washington, DC. My goal is $2,200. And as an incentive, for every $50 you donate, your name will go in the hat for a drawing for a set of 6 hand made cards. But wait, there's more! To sweeten the deal even more, top donor will receive a decadent dessert made by my daughter, and Culinary Institute of America graduate, Amanda.

Won't you prayerfully consider supporting me in this grand adventure ?

quick and simple

And yes, DH has fixed the laptop........at least short term. He's such a blessing to me.

This thank you card was made for a friend who is in a band and treated us to guest passes to a festival last summer. What an amazing time we had. I like this shave cream technique, though it can be a bit messy. Here I used Cool Carribean and marigold morning reinkers and paper from Stampin 'up Now this extremely quick and simple one I made this past spring to send to my daughter in college.......Just because I wanted to let her know that her mommy was thinking about her. SU Close to Cocoa DP, Old Olive and one of the pinks. The stem of the flower is paper peirced. I used the scallop circle punch and then snip it all around to give the petals some depth.

Off to work.

Finally! I figured my mistake out. Silly me didn't go back into my e-mail to verify my e-mail address. Can you say DUMB!!!! Anyway I'm up and running, but the laptop still isn't. and right now I have my 25 year old sitting here staring at me waiting for me to get off the computer. Oh well, he's just going to have to wait a couple of more minutes :-)

VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!!!

Ok. So last night and today, I haven't been able to leave comments on my sisters' blogs. Every time I go to put in my info, it says my password is incorrect. Now I know for a fact that it is, because I have it written down and I made sure I was typing it very slowly and very correctly.

So here is a general comment to my sisters....Very cool! I'm loving the Tilda stamps, the house mouse card, the pictures of grandbaby's first birthday,(love the sitting in the cake by the way):-)

And hopefully DH will help me figure this blogging creature out :-)

Have a great evening everyone!

An Oldie, but a Goodie

Would you just look at these little ones? These are my kiddos.......taken a long time ago. In about 3 weeks, they will all be in their 20's. The little one in the middle is a pastry chef/college student, the one on the left is an artisit and the one on the right is a college student/soldier. I never would have guessed the paths my kids would take when I sanpped this shot. They are all so different, and yet so much alike. I imagine all parents have such thoughts at some point. I just know I am proud of each and everyone of them. And while they all have their moments,(don't we all?), I wouldn't change anyone of them.

I bet you're wondering why I would post such an old photo. Well, I'm on the desktop tonight, because my laptop is down for the count and all of my card photos are on the laptop. I have very few photos on the desktop. In fact, I can't remember the last time I was even on this computer. DH usually uses this one. I stick to the laptop. So hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get some photos downloaded onto this beast, or DH fixes the laptop.

Blessings!

Just some cards

Just an assortment of cards I've made.

I really like these colors together. I wanted to feature the paper, Afternoon Tea from SU, but it needed a little something, so I stamped the word blessings all over it.

This one features rub ons from Stampin'Up Sale-a Bration catty.

SU paper and Inkadinkado cupcake stamp. I used dazzling diamonds on the frosting.

Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend!

3 Days & 60 Miles

That's right! I will be walking 60 miles over 3 days in our nation's capitol. My friend Deby and I are doing the 3 Day walk for the Cure for Breast Cancer Research the first weekend in October. I started my training back in May.

This is my thank you card I made to send to my sponsors. I used striped and pink pattern paper from Michael's. Pretty in pink, wild wasabi, green galore from Stampin'Up. Purely pomegranate ink and glitter glue. I CB'd the scallop on the punched scallop. The stamp set I borrowed from a friend. I can't remember the name of the set, but it's from Gina K.

Speaking of Gina K, isn't her new Flowers for Daisy stamp set just adorable? And what makes it even better is that proceeds from the sales of it go to help fight cancer.

Eventually, I will have a link on here to take you to the 3-Day site if you would like to sponsor me. Of course I still haven't figured that part out yet, but I hope to soon.

Blessings!

Thanks Kim Marie!

This is the card I made for a sketch challenge my friend kim had on her blog. http://www.frogoffaith.blogspot.com/ She had blog candy and I won some. Yippeeeeee!!! I don't know what awaits, but I know it'll be awesome! This is especially exciting for me because I've been on a stamping diet for a few months. I've been trying to be a good girl and not spend. Very hard, but I've been doing pretty good. Any way, this stamp set is from Clear Artistic Stamps, Blackberry fields. I just love this set! Ok. so enough gabbing for now. Off to check out a website that our pastor mentioned last night.

Welcome!

Hi All,

This is my first post on my first blog. It's still a work in progress and I'm still learning the ropes. So let's start with something fun. I'm one of those crazy stamping card makers. Here's a picture of a card I made recently.

Cheffy, as I like to call him, is from the Voila stamp set from Stampin 'Up. My daughter is a pastry chef, so when I saw this set, I just had to have it. I've made many different cards with Cheffy.

Eventually I will learn the ins and outs of this blogging, so there will be many changes here as time goes by. So stop by and see what's new.
Blessings!
