Clean and Simple

Here are some clean and simple cards I made recently. I've been really trying to go this route with my cards. Sometimes I tend to get heavy into the layers and the embellishments.
I paper pieced the purses on this one and colored the flower with my marker to give it a deeper color.
I went for my first motorcycle ride of the season last night. Baby brother stopped by on his Harley. It was good to get out of the house for a couple of hours. I don't go back to work until next week and I'm going stir crazy! I've only been out of the house this past month for church, doctor appointments and my son's graduation.
Time to do some laundry.
Blessings!

Today's challenge at SCS

Here's one of the cards I made for today's challenge at SCS. This was fun to make. Here's what it looks like closed.
And this is what it looks like opened. Once again, the photo loaded sideways

Kutie Pie Ketos

Hi All,
I just wanted to share a couple of cards I made today with images given to me by my friend, Kim. This is a Keto image found at Stampingbella. I used Koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol to color the images. Paper comes from SU and PTI. Th sentiments are from PTI's Handwritten Notes.

I'm not a fan of the color orange, but used in small amounts it's not too bad.
It's all about the bling baby!
Time for a nap,
Blessings!

From the Minds of Engineers

Today I received a big envelope from my office in the mail. I couldn't figure out what they would be sending me. Turned out to be a get well card....civil engineering style. I work for New York State Dept. of Transportation. I work in the Regional office in the Bridge Inspection and Inventory Unit with a bunch of engineers. So this is what they sent me.....I LOVE IT!!!!
Gotta love these guys,( and gals).
Info behind the comment in the photo below: When a bridge gets inspected, sometimes the inspectors find issues with the bridge that need to be repaired. When that happens, it gets flagged. Then the paperwork starts and the owner of the bridge is responsible for repairing what casued the inspector to issue the flag. An engineer with a professional engineer's license is required to inspect the repair and certify that it is acceptable. Engineers..... what a crazy bunch!Another comment from a friend.
Of course when my husband saw this card, he said the gang at work knew they couldn't get away with sending me a store bought card.
My next Dr. appointment is Monday and if all goes well, I'll be back to work later next week. Hopefully things at work aren't in too bad of shape. I don't know though, a lot can happen when you leave a bunch of engineers to fend for themselves.
Blessings!

More cards

Hi All,
Here is a card that I made yesterday. I made about a dozen of them. Francis Bellamy, author of the Pledge of Allegiance, was born in near by Mt. Morris. Because I did mass production on this one, I stamped and cut everything before assembling them. It wasn't until I assembled the first one that I noticed how perfectly things lined up. Notice how the flag lines up perfectly between two of the lines of the pledge.
I did a bit of an experiment on this one. I embossed the leaves on the cardstock and then colored them with a versamarker. Then I embossed it again with the flowers. I think it looks kind of cool.
That's all for now.

One Deckle of a Day

Hi All,
I bet you're wondering what I mean by my post title. Well, I was extremely blessed yesterday. My friend, Kathy, gave me a treat....deckled nesties! So today, I gave myself a challenge....use the deckled nesties on each of the cards. So here are some of the results of my play time today.
This first card shows embossing only with the nesties. It's a neat look,(even if the flower isn't the greatest).
This second card shows just cutting with the nesties.
And this last card shows cutting and embossing with the nesties. (Pay no mind to the sideways photo, the laptop is messing up again.)
I've made many more cards today, but these three best show the different ways I used the nesties.

May is B-B-Q Month!

At least that's what I've heard. This card was done for SCS challenge today. Make a card that highlighted one of the many holidays or awarenesses that happen on the month of May. So for this I used Rupa Shevde's King of the Grill stamp set from Gina K. Since I didn't color so well in between the lines, I cut out the main part of the grill and glued it on another image. I also coloered the background with Kuh-i-noor pencils and Gamsol. Paper is SU whisper white, real red, wild wasabi, and ballet blue. Cuttlebugged the wild wasabi paper.
This one Uses SU very vanilla, baha breeze, kraft, and Manchester DP. I also used a linen BG stamp.
This is the same as above except I used always artichoke and the iage is colored with copics.
Well, time for a nap.
Blessings!

More playing with Copics

Yes, I'm on a Copic kick, and it's fun! I decided to play some more. Check out this duck. I used 10 different colors on him. Good thing I wrote it all down so I'll know when I do some more. I've yet to decide how to put him into a card, but that will come eventually.
I colored the images for these cards yesterday. I wanted to make cards with them yesterday, but I misplaced the pattern paper. It was a free download from Gina K. It's called Jersey Shore and is so versatile.
Ok. back to the card making.
Blessings!

Practicing with the copics and goofey computers

Hi all,
Today I was practicing with the copic markers. Here are the cards that I made today.

This will be a short post as far as typing goes. For whatever reason, The images on my laptop are coming up upside down. That's right, upside down. The only thing I can think that caused it was that I moved it into the dining room earlier and was holding it somewhat upside down while it was still on. It's not easy moving about with crutches and carrying a laptop. Hopefully Andy won't be too terribly upset when he gets home.

Just some cards

Hi All,
Here are some cards that I made yesterday and today. This first card was made with one of the stamps I got on my big score the other week. Before my surgery, I stamped up a bunch of images to color while stuck on the couch. Because this was stamped with Versafine, I used my SU Markers to color instead of my new Copics. The card base is Gina K's 120 lb. Other paper is SU's whispering white, mellow moss and dp. I paper pieced the blanket and then did some shading on it with bashful blue marker. SU markers I used are mellow moss, so saffron, basic grey and going grey, creamy caramel, close to cocoa, sahara sand, basic black. The sentiment is done in brocade blue. I also used my spritzer tool on this.
The paper for this card is mellow moss, elegant eggplant, barely banana, almost amethyst, whisper white. I did use my copics on this one. It's hard to see in the photo, but I used 3 different colors for the blossoms. The image and sentiment is from Gina K's Wreath of Wishes.
This last card uses SU's parisian breeze, kraft and chocolate chip paper. botanical blooms stamps and PTI's handwritten notes for the sentiment. SU sahara sand and chocolate chip markers. I also used EK susccess' new flat edge punch and my spritzer tool.
So I'm back on the couch and I think it's nap time.
Blessings!

Pictures

So here are a couple of pictures. These are the balloons that were attached to the bouquet from my sister. And here are my birthday and get well goodies. The flowers on the left and the big pink card are from my sister. The copic markers are from my hubby. The other flowers are from my church family, and the card in the middle is from my friend Deby. I'll post a close up of it later when I have better light.

It's My Birthday!

Tha's right it's my birthday and I'm getting spoiled. My wonderful hubby gave me Copics! The 36B set. And yes, I've already been playing with them. It's so nice to have a hubby who supports my habit.

My sister in Ohio sent me flowers. A beautiful spring bouquet with tulips, roses, iris, snap dragons and some other flowers that I can't remember the names of. Attached to them are two balloons, a birthday one and a get well one.

And yesterday I received a gorgeous card my friend Deby made me with a couple of images tucked inside. I don't have pictures to share since I'm laid up with the foot.

Well, Time to play a bit more.
Blessings!
