Home resting, some cards, and a big SCORE!

Hi All,
Just want to drop a note to let you know that surgery went well this morning and say thanks for the prayers. So I'm on the couch with the foot up being spoiled by my hubby. He's been upstairs working and every 20 minutes he comes down for ice detail, putting ice on my foot, taking it off, and making sure I have everything I need. Have I mentioned how much I love him?

Oh yeah, my big score...... One of my coworkers brought in 2 paper boxes to work the other day filled with stamps and stuff. His neighbor had a yard sale last weekend and had some stuff left over. I got 21 stamps, including 2 house mouse, 1 bottle of liquid applique still in it's package, and 13 containers of flocking, embossing powders, glitters and other cool textured mediums. Now here's what makes the score big. Most of the containers were full or slightly used and I got it all for $25! What a blessing!

So, here are a couple of cards that I made last week. Both cards have 120lb luxery white card base from Gina K, The sentiments are from PTI's Handwritten Notes, (Ijust love this set), and the papers and embellishments are SU. I also used one of the new flat edge punches from EK Success.

Have a great evening!
Blessings!

Prayers appreciated

Good Morning All,
As I sit here soaking my foot in betadine and water, I thought I'd drop a quick note. We're headed up to the city in about 20 minutes where I will be having foot surgey. It's out patient surgery, so I'll be back home on my comfy couch this afternoon in a drug stupor :-). I would appreciate any prayers that come my way as I'll be laid up fpr a few weeks and on crutches for 6 weeks.

But there's good news in this......besides the obvious that I will not be in any more pain, I'll have all sorts of time to create.

Blessings!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK!

How do you drive a bunch of engineers nuts? Make something where nothing is lined up, a bit off kilter. That's what I did with this card. I work with a bunch of engineers, and tomorrow we're celebrating one of their birthdays. I purposely made the image crooked and the brads not line up. It will drive them insane! Chuck, the birthday boy, is a great guy! I have learned so much about our work from him. He definitely knows his stuff.
This one is just because. I really like this stamp set from Gina K. Flowers for Daisy was designed by Asela Hopkins. The sentiment comes from PTI's Handwritten Notes.
This card features SU image, Springtime something or another. (Leave it to me not to remember). and PTI ribbon and dp. I colored the image with SU markers.
So that's all for tonight.
Blessings!

Can't get enough!

I just can't get enough of this top note die from SU! This card I just finished. Old olive textured, real rose, and raspberry tart dp. The ribbon and sentiment come from PTI, the swirly leafy things are SU and the hummingbird is something I found at Joanne's a long time ago. I spritzed on bashful blue.
I made this card last night. The image and sentiment is from SU's Thoughts and Prayers stamp set. I stamped the image in close to cocoa and then used the always artichoke marker to do the leaves. The paper is close to cocoa, so saffron and the dp is SU as well, but I don't remember which. I also used my new spritzer tool to spritz so saffron around the tree.

DD is coming home from college tomorrow. Woohoo! Do you know what that means? Her chocolate mousse YUM! and hopefully I can convince her to make a carrot cake for the family gathering Sunday. She makes the BEST carrot cake! Wegmans has got nothing on her when it comes to carrot cake.
Blessings!

Here it is!

Here it is! The card I made late last night after my goodies were delivered. Isn't it pretty? I was so excited after I completed it. It came out so nice. DH said I was almost giddy about it. (he was right, I was!)
The paper and ribbon were freebies from the SU sale-a-bration catty. The top note die cut and the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set are SU as well. I ran the die through my CB with so saffron and white paper. I cut the outside edge of the white piece along the perforations. Used my SU makers on the stamp.

Off to finish fixing supper and then it's PLAY TIME!
Blessings!

Happy mail X2!

I just got home about 30 minutes ago to some MAJOR happy mail. My SU order was waiting for me, but so was my Scorpal! I ordered it from Gina K on Friday. I didn't expect it to arrive until Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, but Monday! Woohoo!
So, since I don't have time to play tonight, I'm posting a card I made over the weekend. SU paper and image, sentiment from PTI's Handwritten Notes.
And a PS to Deby....Thanks so much!
Blessings!

A day of play

Hi All!
Happy Saturday! It's blustery and cold outside today. One of those days when you don't go out if you don't have to. So I didn't. I stayed in and played. Here are a couple of cards that I made. This first one was fun to make. the image is from Asela Hopkins' Warm and Fuzzy set I got from Gina K. I used colored pencils and gamsol for the bird. The sentiment comes from PTI's Handwritten Notes.
This second one is all SU products. The stamp set was a hostess set from the last catty. I used colored pencils and blender pens on this one. I had colored the image months ago, but just now got to use it. I used the new EK Success punches for the corners and the scallop on the bottom. I just love these punches! They store flat.
I made several more cards,(in between loads of laundry), but then this would be a very long post if I showed them all to you. These two were my favs.
Blessings!

Is this fast enough Wendy?

I was on the phone earlier with my friend Wendy while I was making this card. She wanted me to hurry up and post it so she could see wht I was working on. So Wendy, is this fast enough for you? :-)

This card was made for a friend at work whose neice is getting married. Making this card made me realised how much I NEED round scalloped nesties. They would have made a perfect mat for this image by Melanie at Gina K.
I used SU purely pommegranate paper and ribbon, SU markers and little pearls for the center of the flowers. As I was scoring the lines above and below the ribbon, I was thinking about how nice it will be when my Scorpal shows up next week. woohoo! The names are computer generated.

Off to do chores.
Blessings!
